It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)

Charleston to Hemsby?

I'm talking about Jive!!

Hemsby is host to the annual Rock n Roll.....and Hot Rods weekend in East Anglia.

The Jive has a history that goes back to the early 20th Century. Back to the Charleston and tap dancing.

A mixture of Charleston and Tap was fused into a dance called the Lyndy Hop. The music danced to was swing. However before the term Jive was used 'Swing' bacame the popular name for a type of dance. But many dances were enjoyed with swing music, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Balboa, Shag, East and West coast swing, Boogie Woogie.

Madeleine. Exploitation in the name of Free Speech?

Firstly I would like to make it clear that exploiting; making money from a child through exploitation is a form of abuse.
I consider books such as Goncalo Amarals and now this book to have used the case of missing Madeleine McCann for the purpose of selfish agenda, self publicity and making money. I have never seen such outrageous and unashamed exploitation before until I became a follower of this case.
There is a worrying history which leads to my concerns at yet another book questioning the innocence of the McCanns. Who to this day are still innocent in the absence of any evidence, by law.
Let’s go back to when the alarm bells started ringing loud for me.  It came as no surprise to find out that associates of Goncalo Amaral had explored this path before on a previous case. Paulo Cristóvão, a PJ inspector who worked on the case of missing Joana Cipriano, wrote the book ‘The Star of Joana’ as a homage to Joana Cipriano who’s parents have been charged successfully on what could only be called gossip and confessions which could not be backed up with proof. Sound familiar? Well for those not up to speed with this case. Joana’s body has never been found, yet a confession from the mother who often changed her story was believed when it fitted what the PJ team opined. Cipriano and her boyfriend were sentenced for the death of Joana, despite no evidence. Yes blood was found in the kitchen which forensics could only determine was human blood, sound familiar again? Yet the PJ deduced that her body was chopped up and hidden in the fridge before being disposed of elsewhere, my God this is almost a mirror image of the case of missing Madeleine!!  Then following the closing of the case with the PJ charging those they considered did the crime which has no hard evidence, a book was written. I wonder what happened to the proceeds of that book?
Goncalo Amaral was the head of the team that dealt with Cipriano. Evidence that Cipriano had been beaten brutally by the police was accepted by the Portuguese justice system. In fact, the courts accepted that Cipriano had her confession beaten out of her. But, because she wore a bag on her head could not identify her abusers. So the court could not charge any individual identifiable as the abuser. Amaral was sentenced to 18 months, suspended for falsifying the evidence to cover up these beatings.
Once again, with the case of missing Madeleine, Goncalo Amaral was head of the team. He had DNA evidence which could only prove meaningless as to say if the findings were Madeleine’s cadaver or not. Yet, to him it was enough. His opinion that the McCanns had been involved with the death and concealment of their daughter needed backing up with DNA proof. His strong evidence, by opinion, is only a false positive by scientific conclusion. Following resigning from the PJ without ceremony, Goncalo continued with his opinion to earn money. He wrote his opinion into a book, ‘Truth of the Lies’ and lined his pockets. Since then, quite rightly the hurt and defamed McCanns successfully challenged Amaral and he has been ordered to destroy all remaining copies of the book and has had to relinquish the copyright to the McCanns solicitors. All proceeds from the book have to be handed to the solicitors, including the Jaguar car he purchased from it.
Tony Bennett and Debbie Butler were also raising money for the Madeleine Foundation, riding piggyback on Amarals thesis to back up their opinion that people in high places, including the government are helping the McCanns cover up a crime. At the same time Amaral was prevented from his selfish agenda, so was the Foundation.  Bennett and Butler have acceded to Carter Rucks, the McCann solicitors, demands.
It beggars belief and so it should with people who understand respect, compassion and morals that these goings on had propagated to the fruition they achieved. However, it is heart-warming and a relief that common sense and justice have prevailed to stop it.
Now we have this new book, ‘Faked Abduction’. A book based on Goncalo Amarals thesis. The Same words with the same  spin but a different author. Allegedly the author is Stevo. The current webmeister of the Madeleine Foundation site which Bennett and Butler now say they have no control over. No surprises there then. Definitely, as far as Stevo is concerned, this is exploitation......abuse of a child in the name of free speech.
God forbid any one of us will ever lose a loved one in a similar situation, or any situation for that matter. Surely, going by the virtual mob punishment being practiced and the virtual wishing for punishment we have witnessed in this case, on the McCanns, would make the parents of any missing child the most evil beings on earth regardless of lack of evidence. I don’t understand it.
Maybe I would have to harbour prejudice, hate and a belief that I am a perfect parent and the need to force my perfectness upon others less fortunate. Or even have some selfish uncaring agenda to make money or to gain publicity, to be able to understand and write such a book when the police involved in solving the vanishing have not yet established a crime let alone who may be the criminals.

A nation divided by Question Time?

Nick Griffins appearance on the BBC’s Question Time has prompted much debate nationwide, in the media. Has Nick Griffin appearing on the programme divided the public opinion as is being muted in the media though? I don’t think Griffins appearance on the programme, in itself, has divided opinion. People who are tuned in to racist matters will already know what Griffin and the BNP are about.  I doubt the opinion of these people will have changed; perhaps compounded?  I think the fear of adding respect to the BNP were unfounded as Griffin certainly didn’t come across as a professional politician. In fact I would say he was humiliated. Questions were being asked regarding free speech and ethics of who are allowed on Question Time and the dangers of censorship, beforehand. There was nothing to worry about, I think, and consciences can remain clear.
No, the worry for me is the members of Joe public who are apathetic to the history of this racist, fascist party, who only heard Griffin say one thing. “We will put the lid on any more immigration”. That’s the magic vote winner for the BNP. That is the line that will sell best for them and in my opinion is why they achieved membership to the order of MEP’s. The voters who decide which square to cross at the ballot box based on fear of immigration won’t be thinking about race or creed.
So will history repeat itself. Will we look back with regret, in the future, at another racist party gaining power, demonising easily stereotypical groups, mis-representing them and having the power to provide a solution in a typical Nazi way?
Will we look back and understand the root of the problem was once again recession, an organisation that can exploit the fears of people in such a situation, a group to blame for it and a way to punish them?
How can we break the chain?
Do we need to break the chain when we can trust the British public have the common sense to remember the past?
For me, the answer lies with our non racist politicians. They must deal with the immigration issue now. Without doubt our elected party have not been competent in answering people’s fears and dealing with it. It is because of this one issue above others, in my opinion, that the BNP have been so successful.

Profits from Gonçalo Amaral’s book apprehended

Google translation from www.sic.pt
The Lisbon Civil Court ordered the seizure of all profits from the sale of the book "Maddie, the truth of lies", the former Inspector of Judicial Police (PJ) Gonçalo Amaral, following a lawsuit by the parents of British girl , reports the Expresso Online.

According to the order of the court, the editors who published the book have already been informed that all proceeds of the sale and marketing of the work will be seized for the payment of an amount of 1.2 million.

Notifications of court procedure on this measure has followed for Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, where the work was translated and published.

Gonçalo Amaral, the inspector who conducted the investigation in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, in 2007, was dismissed from the case following statements to the media.

The investigation of the disappearance of British girl of 3 years, in Praia da Luz, was filed on 21 June 2008.

In September, by order of Civil Court, the book had already been withdrawn from bookstores.

The book "Maddie, the truth of lies" was published in July 2008, published by War & Peace, and within two months had 12 editions of 10 thousand copies each.

I'm really happy about this decission and am looking forward to the Everton match tommorrow when 1000's of fans, including Portuguese Benfica fans, will be wearing Madeleine's picture on their shirts. As the chairman of Everton, Bill Kenwright, says what greater victory could there be but for Madeleine being returned to her parents.

The BNP and That Spitfire.

The BNP launches it's 2009 European Election Campaign Roadshow with the image of a WW2 Spitfire and entitling the campaign 'The Battle for Britain'

As can be seen on the BNP Spit' the squadron code is RF. This code was assigned between August 1940 to April 1945 to the unit with the highest enemy kill rate during the Battle of Britain.

Which squadron? Ironically, it was a Polish squadron. One of 16 Polish squadrons fighting for the RAF.

The BNP seem to be saying that they knew the spitfire is that of a Polish squadron. Saving face or hiding embarrassment?

Everton FC Launch Madeleine Campaign

Everton FC has launched an international awareness campaign to refocus attention on the two-year search for missing Madeleine McCann.

The move to re-energise the campaign to find the youngster is being made as the Blues head to Portugal for their Europa League group match with Benfica at Lisbon’s famous Stadium of Light on Thursday night.

Now I'm not an Everton fan when it comes to football. However, I support Everton 100% in their campaign to keep Madeleine's profile high and to do that in Portugal as well is fantastic.

Well done Everton.

Why the case was shelved.

I've read all sorts of insinuations as to why the case was shelved with bias. Following is the LEGAL summary.

Quote from: http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/PJ/LEGAL_SUMMARY.htm

Therefore, after all seen, analysed and duly pondered, with all that is left exposed, it is determined:

a) The archiving of the Process concerning arguido Robert James Queriol Eveleigh Murat, because there are no indications of the practise of any crime under the dispositions of article 277 number 1 of the Penal Process Code;

b) The archiving of the Process concerning Arguidos Gerald Patrick McCann and Kate Marie Healy, because there are no indications of the practise of any crime under the dispositions of article 277 number 1 of the Penal Process Code.

Tony Bennett's Foundation. Built on perceived conspiracy or a wild imagination?

I have often wondered what Tony Bennett's agenda is when it comes to the case of missing Madeleine. Asking him questions on fora usually provoked replies including quotes from the bible. I wondered if it is just a selfish agenda to gain publicity on the back of this case. I could see how he has gained support from selective biased forums which he would find very useful. I wondered why he states that he has the facts as written in the PJ files. The same cherry picked information waxed by Sr Amaral, the head of the police team dealing with this case and who resigned suddenly without ceremony, to add weight to the policeman's theory.

Then I came across the following post by Tony Bennett back in 2008 where he states that the McCanns are involved with a conspiracy of protection from government and powerful people. This of course is just an opinion. I fear for those who hang on to Tony's coat tail and run with him. Such extreme theories and such lack of evidence. I now wonder how far down the list Madeleine actually is for him when politics and publicity are involved.

A quote written by Tony Bennett. Click to view.

Anyone who has seen even a selection of my public posts on forums about Madeleine would know I have a deep suspicion of possible British government involvement in trying to suppress the possible prosecution of the McCanns and many times I have praised the PJ for having worked under the most enormous pressure to try to find out the truth. It is my personal view that the McCanns have mounted the mother of all diversionary tactics regarding Madeleine’s ‘disappearance’ and have been aided and abetted in this by most of the media and possibly by sinister forces within the British government. I do not of course know about the quality of the work done by the PJ, but reading between the lines, my provisional verdict would be: ‘done a great job under very adverse circumstances.
